Drum Camp
Get in the groove at drum camp! This program is designed for total beginners as well as kids who have had some drum lessons. Campers will learn rudiments on their practice pad, basic rock beats on a full drum kit, and group percussion with shakers and hand drums. Our Meter team will record solos and group performances throughout the week to send to families after we wrap up. Each day includes a variety of drumming activities, and lots of running around at the park during lunchtime.

Derek B
Derek (he/him) pursued music from an early age and earned a Louis Armstrong Jazz Award while in high school. He attended the University of Washington where he played drums for many musical theater and dance performances. He makes solo electronic music, has played drums and synthesizer in various rock and experimental groups, and loves to improvise. Derek teaches drums and electronic music production to kids and adults at Meter Music School.
