Lainey (she/her) has been singing, making music, and performing for as long as she can remember. She started taking cello lessons at age 10, and voice lessons at 15 - playing in orchestras and singing in choirs throughout her childhood. Currently, Lainey is pursuing a B.M. in Vocal Performance at the University of Washington under the instruction of Dr. Carrie Shaw. Lainey learned piano as part of her studies at UW, and believes that an instrumental foundation is complementary to becoming successful in voice training.
Lainey is passionate about fostering an environment in which students feel safe to express themselves, make mistakes, and try again. Her multi-instrumental background inspires her to approach teaching in different ways for different students - music lessons are not one-size-fits-all!
