Beginner Ukulele for Kids

Ready to start strumming? Make friends and explore the wonderful world of ukulele in this class. Ukulele is a great instrument to learn at any age, but our youth students especially like it because you can learn your first songs more quickly than on guitar. We'll work on strumming popular songs, note reading, and playing as a group. Students should bring their own ukulele (soprano or concert size). Teacher will recommend a book to order after your first class. Enrollment is continuous - new students can start anytime!

Intermediate Guitar for Adults

Working at a slightly faster pace than a beginner group, new students in this class should just know a few chords and be able to tune their instrument. Join us in a fun, low-pressure environment to explore the wonderful world of guitar playing! We will strum together through a wide variety of tunes, and sprinkle in other music fundamentals along the way. Students should bring their own acoustic guitar.

Beginner Guitar for Kids

Rock out with us in group guitar! Total beginners are welcome to join this low-pressure class anytime. We'll work on rock riffs, strumming chords, note reading, and playing as a group. Students should bring their own acoustic guitar (3/4 size recommended).

Carrie P

Carrie (they/them) is a musician and photographer originally from St. Louis, MO. At age ten they picked up a guitar and have barely put it down since! They are grateful for the flourishing music scene of St. Louis, which nurtured their first indie rock band, studies of music and culture at Washington University in St. Louis, and exposed them to vibrant arts communities from a young age. Since then, Carrie has started / joined three folk-rock bands in the Seattle scene that perform regularly at beloved venues, studied songwriting and music production, and coached bands at Seattle's Rain City Rock Camp. 

Carrie specializes in rock, folk, americana, and singer-songwriter material. They especially enjoy working with students brand new to their instrument! Lessons will always be a fun, non-judgemental, and creative space for students of all skills and backgrounds. Carrie aims to build general musical understanding alongside instrument-specific technique, and empower students to find voice and community through the arts. Now let's rock! (Note - some days Carrie is joined by music loving pup Finn)
