Jordan D

Originally from Ohio, Jordan (he/him) is a world-class guitarist who loves sharing the magic of music with his students. Whether he's teaching a first-time player how to strum their favorite song or diving into challenging classical pieces, Jordan's goal is to make every lesson fun and inspiring. He's played guitar all over the world, including as a soloist with the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra and with ensembles including the New York City Guitar Quartet. 

Jordan brings many years of teaching experience to his work at Meter, with a deep background in woodwind, percussion, and piano instruction as well as guitar and ukulele. With guitar students, he specializes in classical, jazz, and rock styles. 

Jordan holds degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and the University of Cincinnati, and was described as "one of the top young guitarists of his generation" on American Public Media. Jordan brings a wealth of knowledge to our school-ready to help kids and adults find their own musical voice.

Young-Chhaylee K

Please note - Young-Chhaylee works with guitar and ukulele students up to intermediate level, and beginner vocalists.

Young-Chhaylee (he/him) is a singer-songwriter who has been part of the Seattle music community for over a decade and has performed all over the country. He aims to help students find joy in making music, and loves to see students challenge themselves to strum, sing, and write some of their own songs. Young-Chhaylee teaches guitar, voice, and ukulele at Meter.

Cole M

Cole (he/him) started his journey at age 12, learning Eagles tunes on his dad's acoustic, and has since become a versatile multi-instrumentalist fluent in a range of styles, from Rock, Metal, and Pop to Jazz, Funk, and R&B. He brings this broad knowledge and energy to every lesson. 

A graduate of the University of Washington's rigorous Jazz Studies program, Cole is not only an accomplished player with performance experience but also a skilled teacher who can tailor lessons to any age and goal. Whether you want to master a specific genre, learn recording techniques, or just play your first song, Cole is ready to help you foster a lifelong relationship with music. Cole teaches guitar, ukulele, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, and music production to all ages at Meter.

Aaron B

Please note: Aaron does not teach piano lessons on Tuesdays.

Aaron (he/him) is a doctoral percussion student at the University of Washington, and holds degrees in percussion performance from Ohio University (MM) and Centenary College of Louisiana (BM). He regularly presents concerts of contemporary solo and chamber music, and performance highlights include the 2013 Athens International Film Festival and the 2016 Nelsonville Music Festival. As a composer, he frequently collaborates with artists from other disciplines including choreographers Ani Janian and Travis Gatling, filmmaker Chris Lange, and Bristol-based potter Steve Carter. Aaron teaches drums, guitar, bass, ukulele, and piano at Meter.

Nick M

Nick (he/him) grew up in Seattle, with his musical beginnings in rock bands with friends. He soon found his way into the world of Greek and Balkan folk music and joined Dromeo, a folk music ensemble led by Balkan music veterans Ruth Hunter and Christos Govetas. 

Nick is well-versed in rock and popular styles on guitar, ukulele, and bass. He has also dedicated himself to the musical traditions of Greece through his bouzouki, oud, and laouto playing. Nick has performed at a wide array of dance symposiums, concerts, and workshops throughout the U.S., Canada, and Greece. He is thrilled to share his musical knowledge with students of all ages at Meter!

Brad T

Brad (he/him) has been playing music and performing for over 25 years. He was born in the Seattle area and raised in a multi-generational family of professional musicians and teachers. His great-grandfather Paul Tutmarc was the inventor of the first electric bass. 

As an educator, Brad has worked with hundreds of youth and adult students in both rock ensembles and private lessons. He is experienced in a wide variety of styles including jazz, rock, blues, folk, indie, country, flamenco, and metal. He is currently the lead guitarist in a surf rock group, and hosts Long Story Short, his weekly radio show on Space 101.1 FM. 

Brad is grateful for the collaborations and friendships that music has brought him over the years, and finds great joy in being a mentor to students in their musical journey.

Carrie P

Carrie (they/them) is a musician and photographer originally from St. Louis, MO. At age ten they picked up a guitar and have barely put it down since! They are grateful for the flourishing music scene of St. Louis, which nurtured their first indie rock band, studies of music and culture at Washington University in St. Louis, and exposed them to vibrant arts communities from a young age. Since then, Carrie has started / joined three folk-rock bands in the Seattle scene that perform regularly at beloved venues, studied songwriting and music production, and coached bands at Seattle's Rain City Rock Camp. 

Carrie specializes in rock, folk, americana, and singer-songwriter material. They especially enjoy working with students brand new to their instrument! Lessons will always be a fun, non-judgemental, and creative space for students of all skills and backgrounds. Carrie aims to build general musical understanding alongside instrument-specific technique, and empower students to find voice and community through the arts. Now let's rock! (Note - some days Carrie is joined by music loving pup Finn)

Ricky C

Ricky (he/him) has been studying, writing and performing music since his childhood, and has played guitar and piano for over 25 years. On guitar, he is most proficient in blues, rock, and post-punk. On piano, he teaches classical and popular styles.


Ricky's early piano training was with a professor of music theory and history, which formed the foundation of his musical knowledge. In his performing career, Ricky has released three albums and toured the United States. He is also trained in methods intended to address the individual needs of neurologically diverse populations.
