Liz M

Please note - Liz works with beginning level violin and viola students, and up to advanced level cello students.

Liz (she/her) is a classically-trained cellist and educator specializing in orchestral strings. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Bowling Green State University, where she attended as the recipient of the prestigious Hansen Performance Fellowship. She started playing the cello at age 9 in northeastern Pennsylvania and quickly grew to love all things music - especially theory, composition, and pedagogy.

With over six years of experience directing private studio lessons, K-12 public school classrooms, and accessible lessons for students with diverse learning needs, Liz brings a versatile, student-centered approach to her teaching. She believes that every musician's path is unique - and everyone can be a musician. By integrating the technical foundations of the Suzuki and Bornoff approaches, she provides students with a robust physical command of their instrument while nurturing their individual expressive voices.

Ultimately, Liz aims to do more than teach students how to play an instrument; she strives to cultivate a sustainable, joyful relationship with music that empowers her students to succeed both on the stage and off.
